Job Title: Office Assistant - Seasonal

Department: Recreation

Report to: Manager of Youth Services

SUMMARY: Responsible for providing a positive experience for individuals calling or visiting Camp Cheerful. Assists with Recreation Department filing:

  • client files
  • light cleaning on the grounds and upkeep of office
  • seasonal employee files

Also helps with front office coverage, data entry and general administrative support of the entire recreation department.

ONGOING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to successfully perform each ongoing duty.

  1. Promotes a positive image by representing the Achievement Centers for Children in a courteous, professional manner.

  1. Adheres to all Policies/Procedures in the Achievement Centers for Children Staff Handbook.

  1. Promotes a team approach within the recreation department and throughout the agency.

4. Practices safe work habits and contributes to ensuring a safe and healthful work environment.

    1. Maintains all equipment in safe working order, notifying supervisor of repairs/replacements as needed.
    2. Practices appropriate safety techniques related in Infection Control and Universal Precautions including hand washing.

5. Fosters and maintains good public relations with all community sources.

  1. Conducts self with professional dignity; understands the importance of good human relations; able to work with others; and possesses initiative and good judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Answers the phone and provides a positive first impression for the caller, answering questions, directing the call to appropriate staff as necessary and mailing or e-mail additional information as needed.
  2. Assist with updates in CampBrain database for easy accessibility of important information.
  3. Creates new client files when necessary and maintains all client files in compliance with regulatory standards. Archives files as needed.
  4. Assists with summer employees HR paperwork.
  5. Maintains supply of pertinent forms and documents that are needed for the recreation department.
  6. Assists with all aspects of the recreation department, copying new staff training documents.
  7. Makes daily attendance phone calls as needed
  8. Assists with uploading of client documents at the end of each session.
