Occupational Therapy Assistant – Full Time

The ideal candidate for this position is an occupational therapy assistant who has a strong desire and interest in developing expertise in providing occupational therapy to children in a variety of settings using a multidisciplinary collaborative model of intervention.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program curriculum approved by American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team approach
  • Interest in developing and applying skills to contribute to growth and development of therapy program.
  • Professionally driven and motivated to pursue clinical continuing education opportunities for professional growth

Responsibilities:

  • Provide services to individuals in a variety of settings.
  • Collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist, to complete forms and documentation including re-assessments, progress notes, daily notes, authorization forms, schedules, bills, and other forms as assigned.
  • Collaborate, consult, and plan with other team members throughout informal and formal meetings which may include providing in-service training to the same.
  • Fabricate and adapt equipment and devices for activities of daily living. Construct, apply, monitor and recommend splints and casts.
  • Attend supervision, departmental, utilization review and staff in-service meetings.
  • Maintain appearance of department, equipment, and toys including cleaning and organizing.
  • Provide supervision to volunteers and students as assigned.
  • Attend continuing education opportunities to maintain current licensure.
  • Participate with supervisor in developing and implementing an annual plan for professional growth aligned with the annual evaluation and agency goals.
  • Serve on therapy department and agency committees.
