Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant- Full time/Part time

Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Consultant

Positions Available- Temporary

Schedule: Flexible schedule M-F and 2 evening shifts required.

Join our Early Childhood Mental Health Counseling team and enhance your skills by taking advantage of our training, ongoing team support, and individualized clinical and reflective supervision to grow in your career and obtain or maintain your professional license. ECMH services are currently provided in the community, in-agency, and child care/early learning centers along with opportunities for remote work. This position provides improved work/life interface, as you can write your own schedule and travel is limited to Cuyahoga County!

The ideal candidate has experience working with young children and their families with an ability to establish and maintain professional rapport, knowledge of early childhood social-emotional development, and is open to providing services in a variety of settings.

Education/Experience/Licensure

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, early childhood or related field
  • Current State of Ohio LSW or LPC or licensure eligible

PREFERRED:

  • Minimum of two years direct experience with early childhood population
  • Experience in mental health counseling (internship experience is acceptable)
  • DC:0-5 training a plus, along with the ability to identify social-emotional and developmental challenges within infants and toddlers
  • Experience with home/community visiting
  • Cultural Competency and bilingual ability is an advantage

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide behavioral health consultation services for infants and children up to age 6 and their families in a variety of settings
  • Build partnerships with parents, children and an interdisciplinary team to address emotional and behavioral challenges at early ages
  • Advocate with and on behalf of infants/children and their families; offer resources and make referrals to appropriate services (internally or externally)
  • Ensure compliance with CARF and clinical best practice guidelines
  • Achieve realistic productivity goals as assigned
  • Maintain schedule flexibility in order to meet with families during early morning or evening hours as needed
  • Integrate a Trauma-Informed Care approach while engaging with families served
  • Ability to utilize reflective practice throughout work and to participate in regularly scheduled reflective supervision
