HR Generalist

The Achievement Centers for Children, a well-respected non-profit agency serving children and adults with disabilities and their families, has an opening for a dynamic Human Resource Coordinator in our expanding Human Resource Department. The Achievement Centers for Children empowers children and adults with disabilities and their families to achieve their greatest potential. The Achievement Centers serve over 2,500 children per year. Our headquarters are located in Highland Hills with two additional locations in Westlake and Camp Cheerful in Strongsville

This position will coordinate and execute daily functions of the Human Resource department..

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • With the Talent Acquisition Manager, conducts and monitors full-cycle onboarding/orientation process for candidates and newly hired employees. Ensures a welcoming candidate and employee experience.
  • Facilitates orientation programs .
  • Performs and monitors all background checks, BCII fingerprints, references, I -9 requirements, driving record checks, required testing and maintains compliance within all regulatory oversight.
  • Coordinates agency performance evaluation process and tracks compliance
  • Responds to employee requests for information regarding benefits, FMLA, employment verifications while achieving excellent customer service.
  • Performs data entry into human resource systems and creates reports as needed.
  • Assists in processing of worker's compensation and unemployment claims as needed
  • Assists in employee recognition programs.
  • Records management to include hard copy and electronic.

The qualified candidate will possess:

  • A cheerful and positive disposition.
  • Past experience in Human Resources required
  • SHRM certification a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and capable of learning new software applications.
  • Exceptional responsiveness and customer service focus
  • Ability to meet all deadlines consistently with a high degree of accuracy and productivity.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail
